1. Making 5S Sustain Itself on the Factory Floor
The hardest step of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) is keeping tools and expensive production jigs organized months after the initial audit. When tools are piled in drawers, operators waste 15–20 minutes per shift searching for wrenches, gauges, or fixtures.
